Mission Statement

Benefits of a Trimaran The comfort and convenience of wide, almost level decks provide a sense of security that cannot be found elsewhere. There’s no safer boat for children who have plenty of handholds and places to climb back aboard from the water.

Benefits of a Trimaran High performance is an often overlooked safety feature which offers the ability to outrun approaching foul weather and reach safe habour while slower boats remain at sea.

Benefits of a Trimaran Corsair’s are always launched folded, requiring no more ramp space than a monohull. Once afloat, stability is excellent. They can even be motored while folded and will fit nicely into any standard width marina space.

Benefits of a Trimaran Corsairs provide enjoyable family cruising. A priority of their design was to deliver maximum roominess in cabin and cockpit, with ease of handling and of course, safety - that effortless speed is a bonus!

Benefits of a Trimaran The most compelling argument of all must be this: monohull sailors are converting to multihulls in ever growing numbers. It is rare to hear of any of these ever going back. Once you have experienced the speed and versatility of a folding trimaran, you become a Corsair sailor for life.

INCREDIBLE SAILING PERFORMANCE

Extraordinary speed and effortless acceleration are trademarks of high performance trimarans including all models of Corsair. Their ability to fly on a puff, and generate their own high-power apparent wind is legendary. Without a lead keel to add displacement and create drag, and with tangible buoyancy via the construction technique and materials, Corsairs are powered effortlessly by their high-performance sails.

SAFETY THROUGH POSITIVE BUOYANCY

Superior safety is inherent in the design and construction of these boats and it stems from the same features that make them sail flat and fast: Corsairs can’t sink. In fact, even with the hulls filled to the brim with water, the positive buoyancy of the materials of construction keep the vessel afloat even with all crew aboard.

LEVEL, LOW-HEEL SAILING

Leaning over at 25 degrees can be exciting and fun… for a while. In a very short time the novelty wears off and the attraction of level sailing becomes. Our trimarans rarely heel more than 10 degrees, is restricted to about 15 degrees, and it’s incredibly easy to make them sail flat. Further, the wide stable beam makes what little heel there is feel even flatter. This makes long passages less tiring, helps drink and food stay on the table, sleeping doesn’t involve a balancing act and reefing in heavy weather is not done on a rolling slippery deck. The advantages are endless.

TRAILERING VERSATILITY

Trailerability opens up new horizons! Corsairs cross continents to sail in new and often hidden locations and give your valuable down time whole new possibilities. After a few practice runs, it only takes a single owner about 30 minutes to go from trailer to sailor and back again. Corsairs fold up and exit the water effortlessly – being light makes it easy to tow up a slippery ramp. Our masts can be lowered in moments, and fit snugly on top of the boat and trailer. And best of all, towing ability saves you a bundle on slip fees and seasonal storage.

COMFORTABLE ACCOMODATION

Accommodations are ample and designed for extended cruising aboard the larger models, or can be streamlined for racing on SPORT and Carbon models. Berth areas are sufficient and comfortable, appliances are an option and so is a shower if you want one. You’re apt to lounge on deck or in the cockpit most of the time but when you do go below you’ll have all the comfort you need.

BEACHABLE SHALLOW DRAFT

On a Corsair, you can sail or motor up to the beach, step off and drop anchor on land (and you can see if it is set properly!). Outboard motors can be gas/petrol or electric, and tilt up when you beach the boat – so there’s no saildrive leg or propeller to damage. There’s also no need to load up a dinghy as everything is with you on board and nearby.
