Corsair 970 Sport

STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS AND EQUIPMENT 

1. GENERAL:

The 970 Sport shares many features of the classic model Corsair 31: Speed, performance, safety, reliability and ease of trailering. However, the 970 Sport takes all these features to the next level with modernised lines and greater comfort. The 970 Sport is a trailerable cruiser with a performance pedigree.

2. EXTERIOR / LAMINATE:

• Finish: Full female moulded hulls & decks, exterior gelcoat finish with moulded-in non-slip surface on deck areas.
• Hull Laminate: Infused vynil ester (modified epoxy) resin laminate of the entire hull laminate. Full use of carbon fiber laminate on inner, outer skins and all structural reinforcement.
• Hull Core Material: PVC closed cell foam core.
• Deck Laminate: Infused Vynil ester (modified epoxy) resin laminate of the entire deck laminate. Full use of carbon fiber laminate on inner, outer skinks and all structural reinforcement.
• Deck Core Material: PVC closed cell foam core.
• General Laminate: Vacuum formed polyester resin laminate.
• General Core Material: PVC closed cell foam core.
• Laminate specifications are certified to International CE standards.
• Sport 970 decal and striping.
• Composite Rudder Blade, Rudder Case and Daggerboard.

3. MAST/BOOM/SAILS:

• Aluminium 13.5m rotating wing mast.
• Synthetic dyneema cap shrouds.
• 1×19 stainless steel forestay.
• Aluminium long roller furling boom.
• Single line reefing, runs to helm. Three reefing point with 2 reef lines.
• Size 35.2 winch mounted on mast.
• Fully battened mainsail. Triple stitched reinforced construction: Aramid laminate.
• Fibreglass sail battens.
• Hank-on Jib: Aramid laminate.
• Mainsail cover.

4. DECK EQUIPMENT:

• Aluminium hatches & portholes (7 in total) – 6 hatches and 1 portholes.
• Sheet winches: 2 x size 40 – 2 speed self-tailing primary on cabin top, 2 x size 40 – 2 speed non-self tailing combing winches.
• 2 x PVC coated float nets.
• 2 x PVC coated bow nets.
• Aft removable swim ladder.
• Aft raised mainsheet traveller.
• Removable aft helm seats.

5. INTERIOR FINISH:

• Furniture and cabin sides gloss gelcoat finished.
• Saloon cabin top lined with faired light weight painted finish.
• Floors: EVA foam non-skid flooring.

6. SALOON:

• Lightweight carbon saloon table.
• Upholstered settee.
• Overhead aluminium ventilation hatches.
• Saloon side windows in lightweight tinted acrylic.

7. GALLEY:

• Spacious galley with co-ordinated coloured polystone counter surface.
• Alcohol stove, stainless steel pot holder. Flame failure devices to shut of LPG immediately in event of flame going out.

• Pressure fresh water system.
• Under bench storage.

8. STEERING CABINS:

• Mattresses 100mm (4”) foam upholstered.
• Cabins lined with grey carpet.

9. HEAD

• Manual toilet. Discharge via holding tank.
• Holding tank built-in. Discharge pump out by shore station or directly overboard 130L.
• Pipes, skin fittings and sea-cocks are easily accessible and to meet CE requirements.
• Vanity basin with pressure water.
• Separate shower stall with wall mounted shower head & mixer tap.
• Electric shower bilge pump with direct overboard discharge.
• Large quality cupboards / Shelves to very high quality.

10. LIGHTING/ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

• High quality DC electrical switch panel with circuit breakers, LED indicator lights and voltage display.
• Marine grade tinned electrical wiring with extensive use of heat-sealed connectors.
• 12V lighting: Numerous 12V interior lamps and courtesy lights throughout.
• 1 x 12V outlet.
• CE approved navigation lights. Port & Starboard mounted on bow rail.
• Mast head anchor / steaming riding light.

11. PUMBING /FRESH WATER TANKS

• Pressure water system with water to galley and bathroom.
• Electric fresh water pump.
• Manual bilge pump (1).
• Marelon through hull fittings to CE/ISO standards.
